Why your smartphone’s performance degrade with time

In this post you will learn  5 reasons Why your phone’s performance  degrade with time.

1. OS and App updates

·         The newer software will probably require more RAM and CPU power, something that your  ageing device might not be able to sufficiently provide and thus you experience the performance slow downs.

·         The apps get updated , get better graphics and require more processing speed. When the resources available in your device is low, they start to leg and the performance decreases.

2. Memory Degradation

·         Mobile devices run on flash memory with the most common time being NAND memory. NAND suffers from memory degradation over time.

·         It gets slower the more stuff it stores and worse, it has limited write cycle , which means that when this limit is reached, cells are worn out and performance takes a major hat.

3. Background Apps

·         Most of the installed apps in your device run in the background whether you are actively using them or not. Background apps take up resources such as CPU and RAM. The best example of such apps are widgets, live wallpapers, email apps and social media apps.

·         Every app you install generally comes with one or more services that run in the background and keeps eating from the chunk of your device memory (RAM) and your bandwidth. The most culprits in this category are battery saving apps.

4. Battery Age

·         After two or may be three years of service, battery capacity fails and our devices can no longer last a day on a full charge.

·         Another part of this aging process is an increase in internal resistance within the battery.

5. Greater Expectation and the  NOCEBO effect

·         Your device might simply feel slower because you perceive it to be slower, not because it has actually slowed down.

·         One interpretation is that when something new comes out, what you have right now suddenly seems worse.
